How much does a picnic cost?
Picnic costs vary depending on number of guests, add-ons (cheese trays, fresh floral arrangements, photography, etc.), and sometimes venue-specific fees. There may also be additional costs associated with special requests or accommodations. The best way to get an estimate is to submit an inquiry form here.

How long can I keep my picnic?
You can keep your picnic setup for up to 4 hours. Our latest pick-up time is 9:30PM. If you need your rentals for longer than this or anticipate your party going later than 9:30PM, drop us a line and we will work with you to meet your needs!

Does Caravan provide food and beverages?
Not directly, however Caravan works with several local companies to provide your picnic with grazing boards, pastry boards, or catering. See our ever-growing list of recommended vendors here. Food will be delivered to the site of the picnic and plated on Caravan’s stylized serveware. Caravan can provide beverage canisters for non-alcoholic beverages (citrus-infused water, lemonade, etc.) at no extra cost. Alcoholic beverages will need to be purchased directly and brought on-site by the party host.

How does payment/deposit work?
A 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to reserve your preferred time and date. Full payment will be due 48 hours prior to the event, after which point cancellation cannot be refunded. If you have ordered food or fresh floral arrangements through Caravan, an invoice will be sent after the event.

Can I cancel or reschedule due to weather?
Texas weather is notoriously unpredictable. If you are concerned about the weather, Caravan is happy to reschedule your event at no additional cost. We are outfitted with waterproof mats in the event of wet ground. We also love an indoor picnic on a rainy day!

I have guests who are concerned about sitting on the ground– is there an alternative?
Our standard seating is a floor cushion or pillow at our picnic-height tables. Tables are high enough to extend legs underneath or sit cross-legged. If guests foresee having difficulty with this, let us know prior to the event and Caravan will provide alternative seating (up to 2 per party) at no additional cost.

Can I have my picnic at Zilker Park/other public parks?
The City of Austin does not allow any commercial activity or paid services on park land, including picnics. Caravan does not set up picnics in public parks, but we are happy to help you find a venue that is right for you!
